PLEASE NOTE – ANNUAL RENT INVOICES WILL BE ISSUED WITHIN TWO WEEKS
Dear Member
We apologise for late issuing of bills for year 2009/10, these were deliberately held awaiting budget changes for Group Water Scheme subsidies, and thankfully subsidies were not reduced this year.
We now have meters installed, after some delay, and they are currently being read, and most of the charges in 2011 will be based on meter reading on next years billing,
Domestic metering will have free 130 cubic meters per annum allocation (2.5 cm per week), farming /commercial will not have any free allowance, excess water used over and above the above allowance will be charged €1 20 per cubic meter.
Based on present readings most water bills will increase by 50% in year 2011
It is important that you regularly check your meter reading in case you have a leak or running tap, thus avoiding huge charges.
Sooner or later EU will withdraw all water subsidies , it is important that we train ourselves to conserve water, some simple suggested changes below.
Wash your vegetables with stopper in, not with running water
Your teeth do not need 5 litres of running water, a nice floral cup will do.
It is a known fact that flowers and grass grow better on rainwater, capture it.
Old type of cisterns waste an incredible amount of water, stick a brick in cistern.
You will look much cleaner coming out of the shower than the bath
Outdoor taps are a recipy for bank overdrafts

How do I read the meter?
The process for reading was detailed in last years letter, Dial is similar to ESB meter and is measured in cubic meters, reading left to right (1 cubic meter = 225 gallons)
Remove meter lid; place a flat head screwdriver in notch of lid and lift
Remove polystyrene inset, Flip lid up to display clock
Read meter from left to right, digits are in cubic meters rightmost red digit is in tenths of a meter (1 cubic meter is equal to 225 gallons aprox) , same as your ESB reading
Reverse the process to close, ensuring polystyrene inset is replaced to protect against frost
We still have major pipe upgrades and quality control equipment (over € 1,200,000) has already applied for, we have been granted €300,000 in 2011 a standing charge of €100 will be levied on all connections to carry this work.
In order to improve information to our customers we hope to introduce a web text alert system, we request you give us your mobile number & email address, if vailable.
Our GPS System is picking up connections that do not seem to be registered to any customer. If you have such a connection let us know immediately, if you know of such a connection we will pay a reward you for the information.
Our policy on illegal connections states that all connections to that customer will be disconnected immediately. Your last chance for amnesty
If you are using more than 2.5 Cubic meters per week you are wasting water
