Irish Water request to National Federation of Group Water Schemes

Irish Water has been in touch with the National Federation of Group Water Schemes seeking contact details for Group Water Scheme organisations. The purpose of which is to request a list of names and addresses of the members of private group schemes.

Irish Water requires this data in order to ensure, in so far as is possible, that the members of the Private Group Water Schemes, do no receive communications from them regarding proposed Irish Water charges. There is legislative provision for seeking and supply such data (Water Services Acts and Data Protection Acts).

The National Federation believes that this is a worthwhile initiative and is confident that Group Water Scheme members will not receive unnecessary communications from Irish Water. The Lissycasey GWS is awaiting such a request from Irish Water.
